Commentary on Hosted by Olia Lialina, 2020

The concept of hosting the actions of a swimmer on 5 clouds, 70 free hosting services, and 7000 buckets is interesting in theory. However, the effort on the part of the viewer to view the piece is a lot. Going back and forth opening each of the tabs, rather than having that action automated, made me want to abandon the actions after about 10 tabs. Since it was for the class, I continued so that I could see the end result.

While it was not something that I found appealing, the idea of multiple images/tabs creating an animation is of interest as is the collaborative effort and interactive elements.
